Today, Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which will be included in ASUS’ upcoming ROG Phone 2 that is due to be unveiled on 23 July 2019. The Snapdragon 855+ is basically a product binned Snapdragon 855 with higher clock speeds. For the uninitiated, product binning is the process of picking out chipsets that are capable of performing faster than usual. These chips will then end up in various products that frequently operate under workloads, that require higher-performing chipsets.

In terms of tech specs, the ASUS ROG Phone 2 will be equipped with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ chipset mentioned above, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. We might see the device come equipped with a large 5000mAh battery as well. As of now, there is no official information regarding the Malaysia release date as well as the pricing of the smartphone.
