Most smartphones are powered by ARM-based processors, however, the Acer Liquid C1 (set to launch this week in Malaysia) is probably one of the first Intel-based smartphones in the Malaysian market. Some quick preview specs of the Acer Liquid C1 include:
- 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 SoC processor
- 2000mAh battery
- 1GB RAM
- 4GB memory + microSD
- 4.3" display (960 x 540 pixel resolution)
- Android 4.0 (upgradeable to Jelly Bean)
- 8MP rear camera + VGA front camera
- Expected Price: RM1000
While the launch is expected to be sometime this week, the actual smartphone is expected to be available by mid March in Malaysia. Benchmarks of the Intel Z2420 SoC processor in other smartphones (Lava Xolo X500) have been very good in terms of performance but battery life has been less than what was expected. However, since the Acer Liquid C1 packs in a 2000mAh battery (500mAh more than the Lava Xolo X500) we should expect a bit more battery life from this mid-range smartphone.
