With gaming monitors, you notice that most don't have the visual quality you might see from TVs. But that's no longer true, as monitor brands also make OLED monitors nowadays. Two of them are new ones that Acer Malaysia announced today. Below is a quick summary of the Predator X27U and Predator CG48.
Acer Predator X27U
The first one is the Acer Predator X27U, a 27-inch WQHD gaming monitor that promises incredible visuals. As mentioned, this is an OLED monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440, 1000nits peak brightness, and 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut. Not only are the colours vibrant, but they're also accurate, with Acer promising a colour accuracy of Delta E<1.
In terms of features, the Predator X27U supports AMD FreeSync Premium, Bluelight Shield Pro, anti-flickering, and more. It also has a 90W USB Power Delivery port, so you can directly power a laptop or other devices with the monitor. Other features include a built-in KVM switch, a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, and a pixel response time of as low as 0.01ms. Acer Malaysia has confirmed that the Predator X27U will retail for RM3999.
Acer Predator CG48
The other model is the Acer Predator CG48, which has a larger 48-inch display. Of course, it's also an OLED gaming monitor with 4K resolution (3480 x 2160). It's not as vibrant, with a poorer colour coverage of 98% DCI-P3. Plus, it's a 'slower' screen with a 0.1 pixel response time and an unusual refresh rate of up to 138Hz.
However, it's a fantastic monitor for not only PCs. Thanks to its 48-inch size, it's also suitable as a 'TV' for gaming consoles. Moreover, it has a 135000:1 contrast ratio, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. For your info, some of these features are typically found on TVs. The Acer Predator CG48 will have an RM5999 price tag.
By the way, Acer Malaysia is running a flash sale tomorrow (30 September 2023) at 12 p.m. If you purchase the monitors during the sale, you can get them at an RM1000 and RM1500 discount, respectively.
