Apple pauses iPhone 14 Plus production line and reevaluating the demand for it

The iPhone 14 series has been on sale for quite some time already in Malaysia. However, one of the models that came late to the party was the iPhone 14 Plus which was released at a later date. On paper, the iPhone 14 Plus should have been a hit but it's not meeting expectations.

According to sources, the iPhone 14 Plus production is on halt because the Apple procurement team is reevaluating the demand for the product. At the same time, two Apple suppliers are reportedly slowing the production of parts and modules by 70% and 90% respectively. I guess that means we won't be seeing much of the iPhone 14 Plus in the future.

Prior to the iPhone 14 Plus, Apple strategized on releasing the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini. On paper, it sounded like a good idea due to the popularity of the iPhone SE but was released in the same year which may have divided the customers. Most customers also like getting a big phone but retaining the slightly upgraded predecessor chipset may have been its undoing.

Despite the iPhone 14 Plus slow sales, sources said that Apple still intends to release an iPhone 15 Plus next year. We think that if the company would integrate the latest chipset and release it with the rest of the iPhone 15 series variants, it should do well. We shall wait and see so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
