It's not often you hear figureheads on an interview swearing on live television. Well, that was exactly how it happened on CNBC TV's interview with Elon Musk, the current owner of Twitter X regarding advertisers boycotting the platform.

During the DealBook Summit conference with CNBC TV, the interviewer was asking Elon Musk's thoughts about the public reception towards X with criticisms by advertisers. Then in quite a defiant response, Elon replied "Don't advertise" and "Go f*** yourself". Of course, he wasn't replying to the interviewer but rather to the advertisers, particularly Disney CEO Bob Iger.

To understand the context, there has been an ongoing dispute between Elon and advertisers. At the time of this post, over 100 brands have paused their ads on X. According to The New York Times, X could actually lose $75 million by the end of 2023. Furthermore, Elon even posted an "antisemitic" post regarding the situation which upset the brands.

As the interview went on, Elon further added "What this advertising boycott is gonna do is it’s gonna kill the company". He's quite firm on his stance, painting the advertisers as the enemy of X and "That is what everybody on Earth will know,” he said. “We’ll be gone, and it’ll be gone because of an advertiser boycott.”

You can watch the whole 3-minute video on YouTube above. In the comments section, it seems that the public is in favour of Elon Musk's statement, agreeing that corrupt companies should not silence the truth and whatnot. But what do you think? These are interesting times indeed.
