The wait is over for Google Pixel fans. Today, Google confirmed the release of Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro on 4 October 2023. That said, what should you know about these phones?

Google confirmed its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro launch date on 4 October, 10.00 PM (Malaysia Time). The event will happen in New York City and the company has started inviting the media. Interestingly, Google also launched a teaser in the form of a miniseries called #BestPhonesForever.

This series includes both the iPhone and Google Pixel in a starring role. In the video, the two phones are having a “spa day”. With cucumbers covering their camera bumps. In a peak of Google humour fashion, the Pixel teased the iPhone for finally getting a USB-C. If you watch the previous #BestPhonesForever video, you will get the running joke.

Moreover, you could expect the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro to launch alongside the Pixel Watch 2. For your information, the Pixel 8 and its Pro variant will be powered by the next generation of Google Tensor mobile processors and other new features too. That includes the AI Magic Eraser and so forth.

Unfortunately, these phones won’t be available in Malaysia. That’s because Google phones were never sold here in any official capacity. Your best chance of getting a Google Pixel phone lies down south in Singapore.
