Looks like the Google Pixel 8a is in demand. Rumours about the new phone are spreading wild as we approach its release date. According to a leaker, the new phone might be the roundest it has ever been.

For your information, Google will release the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on 4 October 2023. However, that doesn’t stop everyone from speculating about the 8A variant. If everything goes smoothly, we could see this device debut alongside its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro variants.

According to leaker, Abhishek Yadav on X (a.k.a Twitter), the man shared a few renders of the speculated Pixel 8a. Based on Google’s history, this device might debut during the Google I/O event in May 2024. From the renders, you might notice the new phone has rounder and curvier edges compared to its predecessors.

In addition, it also features the same blue colour as the Pixel 8 Pro variant. The leak also shows a pill-shaped camera cut-out on the back panel of the device. That is the same design as the Pixel 7a. It also features two cameras with a matte finish inside the metal bar. Noticeably, the device’s bezels are quite large.

Moreover, the new phone could run the Tensor G3 chip and was nicknamed “Akita”. Given how early this leak is, it is safe to assume that it could be a false alarm or that more changes will happen to the devices. Funnily, the new 8a model could retain its previous design too. So, you might want to take this leak with a grain of salt.
