Huawei Malaysia has just revealed their Huawei Ascend Mate 7 smartphone for Malaysia from RM1799. First covered in early September 2014, the thin 6-inch phablet features an octa-core Huawei Kirin 925 processor, a 508PPI single-touch rear fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE Cat6 and more. The fingerprint sensor works in the rain or with wet fingers and can store up to 5 sets of fingerprints for various modes. The Ascend Mate 7 also offers a very solid metal body with more than 95% metal construction. It looks like Malaysia will be getting two versions with the 2GB RAM with 16GB storage version going for RM1799 while the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version is going for RM1999. The premium version only comes in amber gold, while the normal version comes in silver and black. In addition, those who buy the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 smartphone will also get a free smart cover worth RM128 for free, or at least while stocks are available. Huawei Malaysia are also offering a one year one-to-one swap or exchange policy for the Ascend Mate 7, letting you exchange a new Ascend Mate 7 for any non-man made reasons for failure (parts failure, etc.) during this period. For those getting the premium Ascend Mate 7 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, you also get dual SIM support, but it means sacrificing the microSD tray.

Released alongside the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, the Huawei Ascend G7 is a metal-body midranger with a rounded corner design very similar to the Huawei Honor 6. The side panels and back however, look a lot like those on the Huawei MediaPad X1 tablet. Featuring a 5.5-inch display the Ascend G7 is priced from RM999, offering a more affordable alternative from the Huawei Ascend P7.
