As per tradition, older iPhone models will become cheaper whenever a new iPhone series is announced. However, that's not really the case for the Malaysian market. Due to inflation, the iPhone SE (3rd Gen) apparently got more expensive whereas the iPhone 13 series and iPhone 12 prices only dropped a bit.
For the iPhone SE's case, the new prices have been adjusted from inflation and the models are now RM2249 (64GB), RM2499 (128GB) and RM2999 (256GB). Originally, the launching prices were RM2099, RM2299 and RM2799 for the same respective iPhone SE models. That's a RM200 difference now.
On the other hand, the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 also got RM200 off but not for the highest memory configuration. The iPhone 12 has the biggest drop from its original price but it now has the same price tag as the iPhone 13 mini which may make you think twice. You can refer to the table below for your reference:
iPhone models | Before (RM) | After (RM) |
---|---|---|
iPhone 13 mini (128GB) | 3399 | 3199 |
iPhone 13 mini (256GB) | 3899 | 3699 |
iPhone 13 mini (512GB) | 4799 | 4699 |
