Lenovo launches several new mobile-centric computing devices at IFA2016

IFA 2016 is on its way, running in Berlin. Big name manufacturers are on site and on stage announcing new products that is set to be heading to our shores soon. Lenovo has announced several new products at IFA 2016, ranging from svelte, thin and just out of this world. The new devices include the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus, Lenovo Miix 510 2-in-1, and the Lenovo Yoga Book.

For those who consume media, the new Yoga Tab 3 Plus is perfect, thanks to its magazine-like design, and a large 9300mAh battery for up to 18 hours general use. The Yoga Tab 3 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The screen is a 10.1-inch unit with Full HD resolution, and a 13-megapixel/5-megapixel camera combo is present for imaging, and a SIM slot is present for 4G LTE SIMcards.

Work-minded people may want to check out the Miix 510. Made for the professionals in mind, the 12.2-inch screen device features a 1900 x 1200 pixels display, and also a detachable keyboard. The hybrid's kickstand has a 150-degree angle adjustment to ensure comfortable use in various locations and stances. It comes with Intel’s Core processor, up to a 6th gen Core i7, up to 8GB or RAM, and up to 1TB of SSD storage.

A design that is a bit out of this world, the Yoga Book is a 2-in-1 tablet that comes with a pressure-sensitive touch keyboard – a first for the Yoga line. Lenovo calls the keyboard ‘Halo Keyboard’, that is a fully capacitive touch keyboard that can be used as a doodle surface for the ‘Real Pen’ stylus, which has 2,048 pressure levels and 100-degree angle detection. What makes it real is that it can accept ink cartridges that, when used on paper that sits on the Halo Keyboard portion, can be digitized to be used in the machine. It is powered by an Intel Atom x5 processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM, and a 8500 mAh battery. There will be two variants of the Yoga Book – Android and Windows 10.

The Yoga Tab 3 Plus has no price or shipping date as of yet, but the Miix 510 has a starting recommended retail price of USD 599.99(~RM 2450). The Yoga Book meanwhile will have a shipping date starting from October, starting from USD 499(~RM 2036). for the Android version and USD 549 (~RM 2240). for the Windows variant.
