The Minister of Communications, Fahmi Fadzil has now announced that the adoption rate of 5G in Malaysia has reached almost 36%, as of mid-April 2024. This shows a drastic positive increase compared to the relatively low level before. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, the adoption rate of 5G began to increase sharply after the government recently ordered 5G access to be given free of charge to all telecommunications customers. This allows everyone to activate the 5G network on their supported devices without having to pay extra to the service provider.

Moreover, this leads to a rate of 5G usage that continues to increase daily. In addition to the adoption rate, the Minister of Communications also shared that the coverage rate of 5G services had reached 80.3% of populated areas in February 2024. Hopefully, we can reach 100% as soon as possible.
