Metal and polycarbonate Mix!
We really like it when rumours get confirmed, especially nice rumours like the aluminum chassis for the Nokia Catwalk, or the Nokia Lumia 925 as it is officially known. Released officialy in the Nokia event in London yesterday, the Nokia Lumia 925 isn't entirely aluminum unibody as earlier leaked images and rumours suggested. Rather it has a mix of plastic polycarbonate back with metal chassis. A matte metal band design goes around it with the aluminum frame acting as an antenna amplifier making it both tough and a better working phone. At the event, it was revealed that the Nokia Lumia 925 should arrive from June onwards and it will be priced at around RM1828.
Great Cameraphone features
Notable features for the Nokia Lumia 925 include a PureView main camera with a 6-element Carl Zeiss Tessar lens which when combined with the 8.7MP sensor, optical image stabilization (OIS) and dual LED flash makes it an excellent cameraphone. Other camera software features include the Nokia Smart Camera add-on for photo sequences, strobe effects, the ability to erase objects from a shot (sounds familiar) and a smart best shot feature. According to Nokia, other Windows Phone 8 Lumia owners will also receive the Nokia Smart Camera add-on in a few more months.
More Technical Specifications
Other Tech specs for the Nokia Lumia 925 include a 4.5-inch AMOLED WXGA (1280 x 768) display with sculpted Gorilla Glass 2 screen. The smartphone will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 and have 1GB of RAM with 16GB worth of flash memory for storage. Oddly enough there isn't any microSD support and the 2000 mAh battery is non removable. Nokia have rated that the Lumia 925 can offer up to 12.8 hours of 3G talk time with 440 hours of 3G standby time. It also supports wireless charging but needs an optional wireless charger.
