Oppo continues it's tech spec rampage with the official announcement of their flagship Oppo Find 7 smartphone. Notable features include a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 5.5-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolutions for a massive 534ppi pixel density. Confirming earlier reports that there would be two versions, Oppo has also announced the Oppo Find 7a. Tech specs for the Find 7 and Find 7a include:

  • Oppo Find 7
  • 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB storage
  • 5.5-inch display (IPS, 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, 538ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3)
  • 13MP rear camera (50MP software enhancement, Pure Image 2.0, 6-element lens, f/2.0 wide aperture Sony Sensor, dual-LED flash) + 5MP front camera
  • Supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 801.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, GPS
  • 152.6 x 75 x 9.2mm | 173g
  • 3000 mAh battery (VOOC rapid charge)
  • Oppo Find 7a
  • 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor
  • 2GB RAM
  • 32GB storage
  • 5.5-inch display (IPS, 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, 538ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3)
  • 13MP rear camera (50MP Super Zoom, Pure Image 2.0, 6-element lens, f/2.0 wide aperture Sony Sensor, dual-LED flash) + 5MP front camera
  • Supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 801.11 a/b/g/n, NFC, GPS
  • 152.6 x 75 x 9.2mm | 173g
  • 2800 mAh battery (VOOC rapid charge)

Features worthy of mention include the 50MP Super Zoom enhancement, which will supposedly take 10 continuous burst shots that are combined into a 50MP image. We're not sure what this does for the image but it probably includes some form of oversampling for more detailed pictures. Thanks in part to the Snapdragon 800 chipsets, the rear camera can also record 4K videos at 30fps and has RAW file export capabilities. The camera also has a 32-second slow shutter speed along with other camera enhancements. Another notable feature is the VOOC rapid charging tech which lets you charge the Oppo Find 7 up to 75% in 30 minutes but you can still use standard microUSB chargers as well.

Priced at 3498 Yuan (RM1860) the Oppo Find 7 should make a big splash when it hits Malaysia. Unfortunately, there is no news about Malaysia release dates but with Oppo Malaysia already here, we're hoping it should come with the global roll-out. The Oppo Find 7a on the other hand is priced at 2998 Yuan (RM1590) and is set for availability in April 2014. Oppo also announced a smart band fitness tracker called the O-band with their Oppo Find 7 smartphones. The O-band will track and monitor daily activities, sleep and provide notifications much like any other fitness tracker. It looks a lot like the Sony SmartBand but the O-band is currently limited to China for now, so no Malaysia release dates for the O-band just yet.
