Remember how there was a teaser for the Panasonic Lumix S5 last month? Well, that camera was officially launched earlier today. As many of you may have expected, this is a hybrid full-frame camera with a focus on video shooting, making it an option for professional YouTubers and content creators.

According to TechRadar, the Lumix S5 is smaller and lighter than the Lumix S1 but still packs a 24.2MP full-frame sensor. What makes it great for vloggers or YouTubers is the full articulating touchscreen, which you can flip around so that you can see what you're recording. In addition to that, the camera has 5-axis in-body stabilisation, an OLED electronic viewfinder, two SD card slots, and a Micro HDMI port.

One of this camera's key features is Contrast-based AF system with DFD (Depth From Defocus), which should deliver improved detection capabilities. It also has 4K recording of up to 60p and dual-native ISO, a feature that you normally find only on more expensive Panasonic cameras. To go with the new camera, Panasonic also introduced a new lens with a 20-60mm focal length.

The Panasonic Lumix S5 is expected to be available at the end of September for USD 1999 (~RM8287) if you purchase the body only, or USD 2299 (~RM9531) if you buy it with the 20-60mm lens. However, note that it'll probably cost a bit more when it launches in Malaysia. You can find out more about the camera on the website.
