Industry analysts can sometimes have conflicting predictions. After all, predictions can be inaccurate, which is why we should take rumours with a grain of salt. Having said that, there is now a conflicting report on the iPhone 14 series displays.
Previously, it was rumoured that the iPhone 14 series would come with Apple's ProMotion display technology. This means that all iPhone 14 models would support a refresh rate of 120Hz. However, Ross Young (Display Supply Chain Consultants) suggests that this won't be possible for this year's iPhones.
No since BOE doesn’t have enough LTPO capacity and have yet to ship any LTPO panels. Would be quite risky. Maybe in 2023…

Specifically, the analyst claimed that Apple's display (BOE) doesn't have enough manufacturing capacity to fulfil that demand. This means that Apple will likely limit the ProMotion display to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Young also claimed that the display supplier has yet to ship any LTPO panels, which could mean that the company isn't completely sure of its LTPO panels' quality.
Some might be disappointed that the standard iPhone 14 won't have a high refresh rate display. But if you want it, the Pro variants are there for those who can afford it. What do you think though, is 120Hz on the standard model important for you? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more updates about this.
