Qualcomm may finally refresh its Snapdragon 7 series chipset soon after the rather lukewarm use of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. The new SoC is touted to be the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, so read on to find out more.

According to reliable tipster Yogesh Brar on X, the mobile processor will launch in the first quarter of 2024. Like the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, Redmi will again be the main manufacturer utilising the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Not many devices actually use the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, most notable of them were the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, realme GT Neo5 SE and POCO F5. For its successor though, Yogesh Brar claimed that many more manufacturers are interested, though this remains to be seen.

Do note that the naming scheme for the Snapdragon 7 series has been rather inconsistent, as the first one was named Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, followed by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and now Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.  It’s more confusing when you factor in the naming scheme for the flagship Snapdragon 8 series.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed yet. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for the latest developments on this and for more trending tech news.
