Rapid KL now allows payment via debit or credit cards

Have you ever got onto a Rapid KL bus and found your Touch 'n Go card didn't have enough balance? That's not an impossible scenario, so Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd is prepared to do something about it. In fact, the company announced some changes earlier today.

According to the announcement, Rapid Rail has confirmed that we can now pay for bus or train fares with our debit or credit cards. Those travelling by LRT, MRT, the monorail or BRT can now use these cards to buy tokens (for LRT/MRT) or top-up their Touch 'n Go card. You can also subscribe to the My50 or MyCity travel passes with debit or credit cards.

However, you can't use your debit or credit card directly on the bus or for the MRT/LRT gates. Instead, the payment must be made at Rapid KL customer service counters or Concession Card registration counters. The second type of counter is only available in the Pasar Seni LRT station or Conlay MRT station. The added payment method should help people who don't have enough cash or balance on their TnG card when they get to a station.

Of course, it's another story if you forgot your wallet or purse entirely. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
