Today, a new robot cleaner was presented at the 2017 Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania Forum in Singapore by Samsung Electronics. Dubbed as the VR7000 (note - not the virtual reality VR). What sets this robot cleaner apart from others is featuring a more powerful suction and a slim design, measuring at a height of 97mm, is 28% slimmer than previous Samsung robot vacuums.

The 288mm brush

With the new design, the POWERbot VR7000 only generates up to 20 watts of suction power while covering areas that hand-operated vacuum cleaners miss, however the most impressive feature is the Edge Clean Master feature which enables the unit to come within 15mm of the wall, then by lacing the unit’s wide 288mm brush to reach the wall and gather the dust and hair.

In addition, it also has a Self-Cleaning Brush System that reduces the amount of dust and hair that gets trapped in the bristles. All it needs to do is collect the debris in the centre of the brush, then transfer them into the dustbin and thereby cutting down on regular maintenance.

Like most robot cleaners, the VR7000 is equipped with Visionary Mapping Plus and FullView Sensor 2.0 to navigate itself around the environment, as well as an Intelligent Power Control feature that automatically adjusts the level of suction power, optimizing cleaning functions according to surface type (floor, carpet, rug, etc), and can be fully controlled remotely by a Samsung Smart Home app.
