Today, iOS 16.2 is now available to download and is bringing multiple new features and bug fixes. Among the new additions, 5G connectivity is perhaps the highlight as it's also now available for Malaysians.

As a friendly reminder, Digi, Celcom and U Mobile are the only big telcos that have joined Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB)'s 5G network. As long as you are within their plans and area coverage that support 5G, you are pretty much good to go after updating to iOS 16.2 on your iPhone. That said, Yes and unifi aren't eligible even though they are also using the same single wholesale network.

To recap, below is the list of eligible plans for Digi, Celcom and U Mobile to get connected to 5G:

  • Digi - Digi Postpaid 90, 120, and 150, Digi Business Go Digi 98 and 128 plans, and Family Unlimited 200 plans (inclusive of PhoneFreedom 365 and Pakej PowerJimat)
  • Celcom - Celcom MEGA Lightning 80, 98, 128, 158, and 188, Xpax Postpaid 40 and 60, Xpax Prepaid 35 and 45 (30GB and 40GB respectively)
  • U Mobile - U Postpaid 38, 68, and 98, and U Prepaid U25, U35 and U40
