Celcom offers Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C

Celcom are now offering the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C after their midnight launch under their Celcom First postpaid plans + mobile internet packages. Subscribers do get the choice to go for either a 12 month or 24 month contract but also have monthly rebates throughout the period of the contract. While the Apple Malaysia store already has the prices for the two Apple iPhones, the Celcom plans are offering the Apple iPhone 5S models at an estimated retail price RM50 lower than those on the Apple Malaysia store. The Celcom Apple iPhone 5C prices are only different for the 32GB iPhone 5C model with an RM40 reduction from the usual price. For more details, check out the table and links in this article.

  • Celcom offering early bird freebies for Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch event

Celcom offering early bird freebies for Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch event

Celcom looks to be having a midnight Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C launch like usual as they just put out the invite for tonight to be held at the Blue Cube at Sunway Pyramid. As an incentive for those wanting to pick up the latest Apple iPhone under a Celcom subscription, Celcom are offering a number of freebies for the first 100 customers which includes an Apple iPhone case, a Self-repairing screen protector worth RM150 and either an RM500 voucher or Mystery Gift. While the Phone case and screen protector seems obvious the choice of either an RM500 voucher or a Mystery gift indicates that there could be some sort of lucky draw amongst the 100 early-bird subscribers. The event is set to start at 8pm today, so there should be time enough to pick up some supplies and wait for midnight.

  • Machines Malaysia confirms Apple iPhone 5S availability on 31 October 2013

Machines Malaysia confirms Apple iPhone 5S availability on 31 October 2013

Machines has recently confirmed the availability of the Apple iPhone 5S in Malaysia as 31 October 2013, at least for all the Machines stores. To help illustrate this for all the possible buyers, they've created a chart which they will update regularly and which you can see from the Source. The chart on the page has been updated but do let the folks at Machines know if you spot any errors. The most coveted (and likely most expensive) 64GB Gold version is only available at the KLCC and JBTC shops so if you're within that area or are heading there for that purpose on 31 October 2013, be warned about a possible shortage if you get late in line.

On top of all the other Apple announcements, the Apple Malaysia store managed to put in the pricing for the Apple iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C and the previous Apple iPad mini (with no Retina Display). As the images show these are listed as:

    • Apple iPhone 5C 16GB ~ RM1999
    • Apple iPhone 5C 32GB ~ RM2399
    • Apple iPhone 5S 16GB ~ RM2399
    • Apple iPhone 5S 32GB ~ RM2749
    • Apple iPhone 5S 64GB ~ RM3159
  • Rumours: Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C get Malaysia pricing?

Rumours: Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C get Malaysia pricing?

While the Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C are already slated for a Malaysia release date of 31 October  2013 to 1 November 2013, the official pricing for the smartphones in Malaysia have yet to be released. However, Malaysian Wireless has recently got some insider information regarding what could be the official pricing of the newest Apple iPhones. This includes:

    • Apple iPhone 5C 16GB ~ RM1899
    • Apple iPhone 5S 16GB ~ RM2299
    • Apple iPhone 5S 32GB ~ RM2599
    • Apple iPhone 5S 64GB ~ RM2899

While these are not official prices, they do match rather closely with the price of the Apple iPhone 5 when it was launched last year at RM2199. It also matches with what Apple have done for other countries with weakened currencies like Japan and France which have seen minor increases in price for the new Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones.

  • Celcom, Maxis and DiGi open Registration of Interest for Apple iPhone 5S and 5C

Celcom, Maxis and DiGi open Registration of Interest for Apple iPhone 5S and 5C

Barely a few days after the announcement from Apple and all of the major telcos in Malaysia have reacted accordingly. Both Maxis and DiGi have opened up registration of interest sites so if you're interested in getting either the Apple iPhone 5S or Apple iPhone 5C under these telcos do head out to the Maxis Apple iPhone 5S and 5C Registration of Interest site or the DiGi Apple iPhone 5S and 5C Registration of Interest site. Celcom initially released a teaser site, saying that the Apple iPhone 5S and 5C are coming soon to Celcom but have since changed this to a similar Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C Registration of Interest site as well. We expect other telcos and retailers to do the same soon so stay tuned as we keep you posted as to any new developments.

  • Apple iPhone 5S and 5C available online at Malaysia Apple store from 31 October 2013

Apple iPhone 5S and 5C available online at Malaysia Apple store from 31 October 2013

While the official announcement from Apple yesterday outed the Malaysia release date for the Apple iPhone 5S and5C as 1 November 2013, a look at the Apple Malaysia site reveals another date. When you scroll down to the Shop online option the date you can start ordering online at the Malaysian Apple store is 31 October 2013. This means if you're looking to get the Gold Apple iPhone 5S then you should be prepared for a midnight rush on 30 October 2013. Looking back at the wording of the announcement and it specifically says "by 1 November 2013" which means that 31 October 2013 also works as it is before the 1 November 2013 deadline.

  • Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C coming to Malaysia by 1 November 2013

Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C coming to Malaysia by 1 November 2013

Apple has just announced the second phase of it's iPhone roll-out and Malaysia is on the list. With this, Apple has officially confirmed that the Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C will be launched in Malaysia on 1 November 2013. While the announcement covers the Malaysia release date, it doesn't include pricing, so we still don't know the official price of either smartphone. In this case we're happy to be wrong with our initial release date estimates of December 2013 but prices are likely to be a bit higher this time around due to the weaker Ringgit and a currency exchange between US Dollars and the Ringgit. We expect that on the launch date of 1 November 2013, all the major telcos will release their Apple iPhone 5C or 5S bundles as well but it will also likely be made available at other local retail sellers. Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted as to any new development.

  • Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C go through Drop Test

Apple iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C go through Drop Test

The guys at Android Authority are at it again, dropping new smartphones to see how durable they are. This time around it is the Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C which get the drop onto pavement. While the toughness of the aluminum unibody of the iPhone 5S is pretty much known, many are wondering how tough the polycarbonate backplate of the iPhone 5C stands up to a drop. Check out the video in the article.
