10-inch Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet with active stylus support revealed in CES 2016

As you might have guess, Huawei’s teaser yesterday hinted a possible new tablet and it turned out to be true. Introducing the Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet, the 10-inch device was revealed in CES 2016 and has an active stylus support with two variants in Silver and Gold colour.

Huawei MediaPad M2 tech specs:-

  • Kirin 930 octa-core chip
  • 2GB (silver) / 3GB (gold) RAM 
  • 16GB (silver) / 64GB (gold) internal storage (expandable memory available)
  • 10-inch screen with an IPS LCD panel and 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • 13MP rear camera + 5MP front camera
  • Fingerprint sensor, M-Pen stylus
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and microUSB 2.0
  • 6660 mAh battery

The MediaPad M2 has a rather low pixel density of 226ppi with a screen ratio of 16:10, but it was reported to have impressive sound system for a tablet. It features four speakers with two at the top that handles the treble, while the bottom pair releases the bass sound. It should be noted that the new tablet is using the same chipset as the Huawei P8 smartphone, and there’s also an auto focus feature available for the rear camera. The MediaPad M2 will be available in the first quarter of 2016 as soon as Huawei starts shipping them, and the prices are as follows:

  • $349 (around RM1523) for 2GB + 16GB (WiFi model)
  • $399 (around RM1741) for 2GB +16GB (LTE)
  • $419 (around RM1828) for 3GB + 64GB (WiFi and M-Pen)
  • $469 (around RM2046) for 3GB + 64GB (LTE and M-Pen)
