The Samsung Galaxy flagship devices have carried the 108MP primary camera for years. In 2023, the Korean tech giant could finally move on and serve a major camera upgrade. According to the latest information, the Galaxy S23 Ultra could arrive with 200MP camera.
It's worth mentioning that Samsung had already announced its 200MP sensor last year. However, the Galaxy S22 series skipped it and went with the 108MP one. Therefore, it's likely for the next Galaxy flagship to get it. It's said that the camera will be developed by Samsung Electronics and Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The former accounts for 30% of the production program, while the latter controls 70% of the output of core products.
Besides that, Apple is also expected to do something new for the camera department on the iPhone 14 series, which might be another thing that leads Samsung to using the 200MP due to pressure. Samsung has emphasized smartphone photography a lot these days, as it has been offering old Galaxy smartphones the new camera features from the Galaxy S22.
