So far, most Android devices have generally been of the more mobile and lightweight type. Although there have been larger 'tablets' like the Asus Transformer AIO, it is rarely used for such devices. However, a new 21.5-inch HP Slate 21 tablet will be using Android 4.2.2, which according to rumours it will be using exclusively with no Windows 8 or RT to back it up (or weigh it down). The tech specs for the HP Slate 21 so far includes:

  • Tegra 4 Chipset
  • 21.5-inch Touchscreen display (1920 x 1080, IPS)
  • Dual DTS Digital Theater Systems Speakers
  • HP TrueVision HD Webcam
  • Wireless Direct printing
  • Android 4.2.2

The HP Slate 21 is slated for home and desktop use and since it won't be packing any extra x86 hardware or Windows operating systems, we can expect the price to be much lower than such dual systems like the Transformer AIO. So far target markets for the HP Slate 21 will probably be in China, but if it is as affordable as is rumoured, we'd love to see it make an appearance here in Malaysia too.
