As we approach January 2026, we've been receiving more reports about the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Samsung plans to debut its next flagship chipset with this series, but is Malaysia getting the Exynos or Snapdragon variants? Sources claim they have confirmation on this.

Exynos-only for some

According to ET News, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in all regions. However, some areas will ship the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ with the Exynos 2600 chipset. Insider sources claim that 70% of both phones will use the Snapdragon chipset, while the remaining 30% will feature the Exynos chipset.

This is in line with previous reports, which claimed that Samsung's latest flagship chipset has had poor production yields. The source also confirmed this, but mentioned that Exynos 2600 delivered "satisfactory performance thanks to factors such as the application of the Heat Pass Block (HPB)". For reference, the Galaxy S25 series didn't feature Exynos chipsets due to overheating issues.

Malaysia unconfirmed

So, which regions get which chipsets? Allegedly, the North American market will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for all three models, while Europe and Korea will get the Exynos 2600 chipset for the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+. There was no mention of SEA or Malaysia, but there's a chance that we might get Exynos variants.

Of course, nothing is confirmed until Samsung Malaysia launches the Galaxy S26 series here. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more updates.
