Perlis Youth and Sports, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman Mohd Ridzuan Hashim has revealed that the 5G network coverage in the state has now reached an impressive 99.75% of populated areas. He further lauded the 5G network as a catalyst towards fostering a culture of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) among the people in Perlis.
According to Bernama, Mohd Ridzuan said that enhancing virtual technology and broadband facilities to meet the people's demand and support future development are part of the state government's efforts to promote sustainable use of science and technology. He further iterated that the Perlis State Government is committed and has collaborated with relevant agencies such as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Kangar Municipal Council, and other government departments and agencies to achieve almost 100% 5G coverage.
He added that this ensures that the people of Perlis enjoy fast and convenient internet access, which also acts as a catalyst in cultivating a Science, Technology and Innovation culture in the community. He was quoted as saying the above during the Perlis State Assembly sitting in Kangar today.
