
The Terengganu State Tourism, Culture and Digital Technology Committee chairman Ariffin Deraman has announced that the 5G network rollout in the state is expected to start in 2023. Speaking at the Terengganu State Legislative Assembly (DUN) during the state’s 2023 Budget tabling yesterday, Ariffin revealed that the 5G coverage will be implemented in stages.
As reported by Bernama, the Terengganu Exco also said that the 5G network rollout in the state will begin in nine selected locations next year. The locations are as per below:
- Wisma Darul Iman
- Building TD1303
- The new Kuala Terengganu City Council building
- Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital
- Urban Transformation Centre
- Kuala Terengganu City Centre (KTCC) Mall
- Payang Market
- Mayang Mall in Kuala Terengganu
- Kuala Nerus Administrative Centre
Ariffin asserted that the timeline and locations mentioned are based on the Terengganu State Government’s discussion with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). As with other 5G network infrastructure in Malaysia, it will be built and maintained under Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
