AMD recently announced its latest GPU, the first one developed for PC workstations using a 7nm manufacturing process. The new Radeon Pro W5700 promises greater performance and advanced features that will enable professionals to do their jobs faster.

There are plenty of relatively new technologies that went into the creation of the Radeon Pro W5700. It's built on AMD's new RDNA architecture (Radeon DNA), which can deliver up to 25% more performance-performance-per-clock and up to 41% more performance-per-watt than the GCN (Graphics Next Core) architecture. Simply put, even at the same clock speed ratings, the Radeon Pro W5700 will do better than a GCN-based GPU.

In terms of power efficiency, the new architecture will work with the AMD Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise to provide 18% more system efficiency. This is in comparison with its rivalling GPU, the Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000.

Also, the W5700 uses the new PCIe 4.0 interface. According to AMD's estimates, this enables the card to receive up to double the bandwidth compared to PCIe 3.0, ensuring smooth performance for those GPU-taxing programs and applications.

A SPECviewperf 13 benchmark also shows that the W5700 is quite the multitasker, achieving up to 5.6 times more application workflow performance with CPU load, compared to its direct competitor. Moreover, it should be noted that the CPU used was an Intel Xeon W-125.

3D designers, architects and engineers who are interested in speeding up their workflow can grab the AMD Radeon Pro W5700 for USD 799 (~RM3343). However, the exact pricing and release date for Malaysia have not been confirmed. Hopefully, we will have more details soon.
