The latest Samsung foldable smartphones released last month have some interesting improvements. Both the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 have a new standout selling point that could be the major factor in helping you decide to finally get a foldable phone.
Of course, that's more from a design standpoint. If you're more concerned about other aspects, like photography, the two new phones won't disappoint either. With that said, let's check out the major camera upgrade for both phones.
Galaxy Z Fold7 - A 200MP Powerhouse in Your Pocket
Despite the incredibly slim body (4.2mm when unfolded), Samsung managed to fit a 200MP camera in the Galaxy Z Fold7. That's a massive upgrade over its Galaxy Z Fold6's 50MP main camera. In case you were wondering, this is the same 200MP camera found on the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Powering the camera is a 1/1.3" sensor with a f/1.7 aperture.

This isn't just an upgrade in pixel count, but is a larger sensor that can capture more light. As such, it promises brighter photos with finer details and greater clarity. Thanks to the ProVisual Engine, the camera app can also enhance skin tones and textures, making your portrait and selfies look much better.
Galaxy Z Flip7 - Redefining the Selfie Experience
Moving on, we have the smaller Galaxy Z Flip7. The shape and overall design haven't changed at all, but the upgrades are quite obvious. Of course, we're talking about the noticeably larger cover screen. This FlexWindow display covers the entire top half of the phone's back, so you can do much more with it. For example, it could make browsing social media or watching videos more comfortable.
More importantly, it can provide larger and clearer previews when you want to snap a selfie. Thanks to FlexCam, the phone is especially useful for recording vlogs with the main camera. Speaking of the main camera, the Galaxy Z Flip7 sports the same 50MP sensor equipped in the Galaxy Z Flip6. However, the Galaxy Z Flip7 delivers better low-light performance, more natural colours, and other improvements in camera functionality.

Worthwhile upgrades
Besides the above, the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 each offer other upgrades to enhance their individual appeal. The former can double as a productivity device while the latter would be popular with content creators. If you're interested in these phones, visit the Samsung Malaysia website for more details.
For those looking to upgrade, you can trade in selected Samsung devices for the new Galaxy Z Fold7 or Galaxy Z Flip7. Existing Galaxy Z Fold series or Galaxy Z Flip series users who are using the trade-in programme will also receive a complimentary 3-year Samsung Care+ package. This can be redeemed via the Samsung Members app with your Samsung account. Lastly, this trade-in offer is available till 30 September 2025.
