As the gaming smartphones and mobile gaming industry continue to grow rapidly, Redmi just made an announcement that its very first-ever gaming phone will be releasing by the end of April. It was spotted on the Weibo forums and while not much information was shared, here's what we know so far.

From the Weibo post, it has the typical marketing words to hype up the Redmi gaming phone such as 'gaming machine', 'flagship' and 'hardcore features'. Redmi is also claiming it as the 'ultimate' cost-effective gaming device that can be used for mobile gaming tournaments and such. So far, rumours have it that it could feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, a punch-hole OLED display, and a 5000mAh battery with a 65W fast charge.

On top of that, it also seems that Redmi will be partnering with TiMi Studios. From the poster, it indicates that the Redmi gaming phone is one of Call of Duty: Mobile partners and a tournament is scheduled for it. This is a fairly common practice as to how brands would want to show off the device's capabilities.

By the way, the Dimensity 1200 chipset is using 6nm based on TMSC design so it should prove to be power efficient on paper. There's a good chance that Xiaomi Malaysia may import this device here. Until then, we will keep an eye out on this so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
