How many times can a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 fold for a lifetime? According to Samsung, it has been tested that it can be folded up to 200,000 times. For context, that's up to 5 years of usage but a YouTuber just tested it and went over the mark.
YouTuber Mykeybrd did a livestream of himself folding the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as many times as he could. That sounds insane but that's exactly what he did. He started the experiment on 8 June and ended recently yesterday, where he kept folding and unfolding the phone even in dirt, sand and water.
At the end of the livestream, he did it over 418,500 times which was twice as much as what Samsung said. By all means, this is a pretty impressive result but it was noted that the hinge became rougher at 353,000 folds and beyond. Nonetheless, still impressive and Samsung may have underplayed the folding durability to lower customers' expectations.
