It's been a while since Vivo Malaysia released a Y series model, but oh wait...nevermind, they just announced that there will be another one coming in from 13 July onwards. Introducing the Vivo Y12, this will be a lesser variant of the Y17 for a recommended retail price of RM599.
As a budget phone, the chipset on this device is just a Helio P22 by MediaTek. Memory capacity isn't that high either, running on 3GB of RAM and has 32GB ROM but there's an option to increase the storage up to 256GB via microSD slot. Besides that, the remaining tech specs aren't so shabby - the Y12 features a 6.35-inch HD+ display with an 8MP front camera hanging out on the notch. On the back, there is a triple 3MP+8MP+2MP rear camera, a fingerprint sensor, a big 5000mAh battery and FunTouch OS 9 (Android 9 Pie) out of the box.
On the minor features, it uses also a dual-SIM card slot, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB OTG connectivity. Also, the device will be available in Aqua Blue and Burgundy Red.
