A new change to be expected from Android 11

When Android 10 was launched this year, it was the first time Google decided not to use any dessert name. Recently, the company is planning another major change for Android 11 as well. After many years, the next Android OS is finally going to let us record videos that go beyond 4GB.

As an Android user, you might have realized the long videos you recorded on your phone were separated into different files stored in your Gallery. It is because Android has a 4GB limitation for a single video file, so if you keep recording, the system will automatically split the rest of the video into multiple files.

With Android 11, this should not be a problem anymore. As new smartphones are able to record 4K videos that take up a lot of storage, this is the time for Google to remove the limitation. We already have 4K recording, but we are also expecting 8K video recording capabilities to be in smartphones in the future. Therefore, it makes no sense to keep that 4GB limitation in the future generations of the operating system.
