A teaser confirms that the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra will retain an audio jack

Earlier this month, ASUS confirmed that the Zenfone 12 Ultra would launch soon. The company hasn't provided too many details on the new phone, but a new teaser has revealed what it looks like.

As the teaser video shows, the ASUS Zenfone 12 Ultra doesn't look all that different from its predecessor. It has the same rounded corners, thin bezels, and a small punch hole for the front camera. However, a blurry glimpse of the back reveals a change to the rear cameras. Where the Zenfone 11 Ultra had a square-ish module, the Zenfone 12 Ultra sports a more rectangular design. ASUS also seems to have ditched the two-tone colour scheme and added AI features to the new model.

Regarding specs, the Zenfone 12 Ultra is expected to be a non-gaming variant of the ROG Phone 9. It should have a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a 5800mAh battery, and a 50MP main camera. Besides the lack of gaming features, the former could also lack the high 185Hz refresh rate and wireless charging. The good thing is it still retains the 3.5mm audio jack, which is rare on flagship smartphones these days.

Personally, I'm a fan of the ASUS Zenfone series because of the audio jack and near-stock Android experience. If you're the same, look forward to the Zenfone 12 Ultra launch happening this 6 February 2025. We'll cover the official launch, so stay tuned for further details.
