Love scam happens quite often in this digital world but this one takes the cake. It was reported that a French woman lost $850,000 (~RM3.8 million) to a Brad Pitt impersonator.

As reported by Pop Base, how this French woman got scammed out of thousands of dollars due to the impersonator using AI-generated photos. From their chats, he told her he was undergoing cancer treatment and couldn't use his money because of his divorce from Angelina Jolie. The French woman also divorced her millionaire husband out of love for fake Pitt.

Sources say that she spent a year and a half believing that she was in a romantic online relationship with him. Eventually, she realized she was scammed when she saw the real Brad Pitt with his girlfriend on the news. Brat Pitt did not respond to the scam news but his representative did, offering his sympathies.

"It's awful that scammers take advantage of fans' strong connection with celebrities, but this is an important reminder to not respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence,” said Brad Pitt's representative.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to stay vigilant, particularly those who are single to ignore too-good-to-be-true romantic partners online. Also, celebrities will never ask for your money because they are already richer than you by tenfold. Facts.
