Today, Google for Startups has announced the launch of AI Academy. According to Google Malaysia, the program was designed to support and accelerate the growth of AI startups across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region including Malaysia.
To ignite cross-border innovation and partnerships, as well as enhance the AI community within APAC, AI Academy aims to bring together more than 20 startups that are using AI technologies. Google Malaysia hopes that the collaborative environment will encourage sharing ideas, expertise, and resources, accelerating AI solutions and establishing APAC as a global hub in AI advancements.
Should a particular startup get selected, the group will receive mentorship and access to Google’s world-class AI experts, up to US$350,000 in Google Cloud credits for their AI development and experimentation, and community-building opportunities. All in all, the AI Academy offers a "proof of concept" and product roadmap for startups.
Applications are now open and will close on Aug 16, 2024. For more information and to apply, you can visit the official web portal set up by Google Malaysia right here.
