According to Dexerto, Dell made a bold admission at CES 2026 that consumers don't really care much about AI features on PCs. That said, what should you know about it?
AI does not matter to consumers
For your information, Dell product chief Kevin Terwilliger was quoted as saying, “What we’ve learned over the years, especially from a consumer perspective, is that they don’t buy based on AI features,” he added, “in fact, I think AI might be more confusing to them .”
Additionally, this year, when launching products at CES, Dell didn’t emphasise AI, but rather focused on design, a rebranded XPS brand, and longer-lasting battery performance. The reality is that AI features, although attractive, are not utilised by a large number of consumers on a consistent basis.
Moreover, the addition of AI features in various applications is seen as unnecessary and increases subscription costs, which angers consumers.
