AMD opens new engineering facility in Penang, impressed by Malaysia's incredible local talent

AMD in a press statement today announced its launch of the Server Platform Solutions Engineering (SPSE) facility in Malaysia. Located in Penang, the new facility will deliver end-to-end engineering solutions and is critical in driving next-generation capabilities for the company’s EPYC family of server processors.

The move is part of AMD’s push in the Data Centre and Embedded Solutions space as well as highlights its dedication to helping solve the world’s toughest challenges with industry-leading technologies. With that in mind, the new SPSE facility will work closely with customers and partners to provide short and long-term solutions in the space.

The Site Lead for AMD Server Engineering Malaysia, Lau Wai Shin said that the company is thrilled to be expanding its presence in our country. Furthermore, Lau also lauded the Penang region’s incredible engineering talent.
