A deluge of new announcements just came from AMD recently, as the company gears up to shore up its presence in the laptop PC space. The company has just unveiled its new Ryzen Pro 4000 Series Mobile CPUs, confirmed the prices for the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X desktop CPUs, as well as share some details on its AM4 socket roadmap with hints of the next generation of Zen 3 CPUs.

Let's start with the first part, the 3 new mobile CPUs based on the 7nm manufacturing process: Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U, Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U, and Ryzen 3 PRO 4450U. With these, AMD can bring the power of high core counts to ultrathin business notebooks. They're also expected to deliver greater performance-per-watt, better battery life, and a variety of security features. The new CPUs have been confirmed to be coming soon in HP and Lenovo laptops.

First announced about 2 weeks ago, AMD has confirmed that the Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X will be priced in Malaysia at RM449 and RM549 respectively. As you can see, these are desktop chips targeted at gamers who want to build gaming PCs on a tight budget. Both CPUs will come with all the features available for Zen 2 and are expected to come packed with a Wraith Stealth CPU cooler.

Finally, AMD also confirmed that the AM4 socket will also support the next generation Zen 3 CPU microarchitecture via X570 and B550 motherboards. This will require a BIOS update, which will likely be made available after Zen 3 officially launches. But it at least means that those who own one of these motherboards can just use the new CPUs after updating the BIOS.
