AR-based Pokemon GO officially launched, just not in Malaysia yet

The Augmented Reality (AR) based Pokémon GO has officially been launched, complete with Pokémon GO Plus wearable. The game is free to download to your Apple iPhone or Android smartphone and you can do everything you did in the game like hunt wild Pokémon, build your Pokédex, train your trainer, have battles and go to virtual gyms. The only downside for now is, it isn't available in Malaysia... yet.

Some folks here in Malaysia were initially able to sideload it by installing it via APK but the game no longer spawns wild Pokémon or gives access to gyms, so we suppose Niantic, the makers of Pokémon Go probably noticed the spike in non-official server use over here and subsequently clamped down on it. Not Niantic's fault by any means so just wait and see. According to the site, the Pokémon GO Plus will be available in late July 2016, so we expect a Malaysia release date around or after that time as well.
