Project Precog

Aside from the new ZenBook and VivoBook laptop reveal, ASUS also announced a bunch of other new stuff such as the wearable VivoWatch BP, a Zen AiO 27 all-in-one PC, Lyra Voice 3-in-1 Smart Voice Router, RT-AX88U Wi-Fi router and AiMesh AX6100 Wi-Fi system (RT-AX92U 2-Pack), Mini PC ProArt PA90, two ASUS monitors and a special sneak peek at Project Precog, a brand new concept laptop that has a convertible dual-screen with AI features. Let's take a look at them, shall we?

Project Precog

Look crazy right? Well, it's just a concept device for now and it looks awesome. Implementing a dual-screen form factor for versatility, you can actually turn its hinge a full 360° into four standard modes of Stand, Book, Tent and Flat. Also featuring several AI technologies, it relies on AI Touch which automatically recognizes an active input device and changes the virtual interface accordingly. In addition to that, it can also adjust the keyboard automatically depending on where we place our fingertips on, as well as switching to stylus mode if there's any.

The future is here

Continuing on the AI features, it has been integrated with both Window Cortana and Amazon Alexa as well. This is probably useful for users to keep their main tasks in full view while the virtual AI assistants can process other tasks on the secondary screen. Speaking of which, it's powered by an Intel Movidius Vision Processor Unit and a special AI-Power Microsoft Office 365 is inside too. That's all we know about it.

VivoWatch BP

Next, this wearable was the first thing that ASUS introduced during the event. The BP stands for Blood Pressure and it's designed to monitor and analyze your daily lifestyle habits with its Health AI technology. Integrated with built-in ECG and PPG sensors, the wearable provides real-time blood pressure measurements and other stuff like heart rate, sleep quality, activity data, and de-stress index in just 15 seconds. Moreover, it can go on for 28 days without charging.

ASUS Zen AiO 27

As for the rest of the show, the all-in-one PC, Zen AiO 27 didn't get the spotlight, even though it has a 27-inch 4K UHD display, 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics. Reason being it's not really made for consumers but rather for the designers. Its colour toning is also serious business, thanks to its built-in ASUS Calibration Technology that provides a ∆E (Delta-E) colour difference of less than 3.0. and even has a built-in Qi-certified wireless charger.

ProArt PA90

ASUS Mini PC ProArt PA90 - 1.png

If that's a bit too big for you, then there's the Mini PC ProArt PA90. Sporting an 8th Generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA Quadro graphics and Intel Optane technology for fast transfers, it's aimed to provide a quiet and efficient cooling solution for modern professional users and designers. Not to forget, it's really compact too.

ASUS ProArt PA34V and VG49V monitors

Monitors are still alive and kicking, for the ProArt PA34V, it's a 34-inch UWQHD professional-grade monitor ideal for graphic designers and photographers, able to deliver 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, along with a ∆E (Delta-E) colour difference of less than 2.0 and features ASUS ProArt calibration technology to ensure colour accuracy. The latter is a super ultrawide 49-inch 32:9 Dual Full HD gaming monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate and Radeon FreeSync/ Adaptive-Sync technology. Enough said it's basically great for gaming.

Lyra Voice

ASUS Lyra Voice.PNG

We've mentioned Lyra before and it's only natural for them to have another model. This three-in-one 802.11ac mesh Wi-Fi router, voice assistant and wireless speaker can interact with users using Amazon Alexa. You know how it rolls as a control smart-home device, it can play music, report the news, check the weather and more. It also comes with two same devices so that it can provide a whole-home coverage with no WiFi dead zones. Lyra Voice is protected with AiProtection Pro powered by TrendMicro for free.

RT-AX88U and AiMesh AX6100 Wi-Fi System (RT-AX92U 2-Pack)

Coming on next is the dual-band router, RT-AX88U and it has an incredible next-generation 802.11ax wireless standard up to 6000Mbps. With a revolutionary combination of OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology, 802.11ax technology provides 4X-faster throughput than 802.11ac technology on connected devices in traffic-dense environments, while also increasing network capacity and efficiency. It has eight Gigabit LAN ports and MU-MIMO technology which is great for both wireless and wired connections.

On the other hand, the AiMesh AX6100 Wi-Fi System is the world’s first mesh Wi-Fi system featuring the latest 802.11ax networking with OFDMA and MU-MIMO technology to deliver fast, strong and stable WiFi up to 4804 Mbps, even when multiple devices are connected and transmitting data simultaneously. Like the RT-AX88U, it has AiProtection Pro as well.

Phew, that was a lot to cover. These products are now being showcased in Computex 2018 and it's not sure if some of them will come into Malaysia. Until then, stay tuned for more ASUS news at TechNave.com.
