It was only recently that ASUS Republic of Gamers released the standard base ROG Ally model in the US market. We were wondering when ASUS Malaysia would make an announcement of the local availability and it didn't take them long.

According to ASUS Malaysia, the ROG Ally with AMD Ryzen Z1 processor is indeed coming to the Malaysian market soon and it will be exclusively available on a Malaysian telco. They haven't confirmed which telco will be launching the gaming handheld device yet, but we can be sure that it will be a telco bundle promotion. The company's official website also listed the official price tag of RM2799.

For the uninitiated, the one that we have here now is the Z1 Extreme model, whereas the former carries a Z1 processor. Built on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen Z1 is a 6-core, 12-thread processor paired with RDNA 3 graphic compute units, enabling full support for AMD’s upscaling technologies like FSR and RSR for exceptional gaming performance. That's the only difference with the Z1 Extreme processor.

Apart from the new processor, the Z1-powered Ally uses all the same components as the Z1 Extreme model. This includes 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, 512GB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, and a UHS-II microSD card slot to expand storage capacity. The 7-inch FHD panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and since it runs on Windows 11, that means you can run Steam, EA Play, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, Xbox PC Game Pass, Epic Games Store, GOG, and other platforms.
