A few phone launch announcements were made this week, which has apparently overshadowed ASUS ROG's announcement. On Wednesday night, the company posted a short video teaser announcing the arrival of the ROG Phone 9 Series in Malaysia.

In the 15-second video teaser, it was confirmed that ASUS Malaysia will launch the ROG Phone 9 Series on 10 December 2024. Looking back at last year's release of the predecessor, this came way earlier than expected (it's only less than a year). But then again, given the annual release of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon chipset, we guess ROG is just taking advantage of the technology.

To refresh your memory, the ROG Phone 9 Series is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The lineup consists of a ROG Phone 9 and ROG Phone 9 Pro, which sports up to 16GB + 512GB and 24GB + 1TB memory configuration, respectively. Both models have the same 6.78-inch 185Hz AMOLED display with a 32MP front camera.

Speaking of cameras, the two gaming phones have the same 50MP (main) + 13MP (ultrawide) camera module. However, the pro variant has an extra 32MP telephoto camera. Besides that, there is a 5,800mAh battery pack with 65W fast charging technology and an improved cooling system with a 57% larger graphite sheet.

There are still more than two weeks to go until the ROG Phone 9 Series launch in Malaysia. Until then, stay tuned for our official news coverage only at TechNave.com.
