What was previously teased has become a reality. Today, ASUS Republic of Gamers officially announced the ROG XREAL R1, the world’s first gaming glasses to feature a 240Hz micro-OLED Full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Developed in partnership with XREAL, the ROG XREAL R1 transforms ROG performance into a spatial display that can be worn anywhere.
Built for PCs, Consoles, and the ROG Ally Ecosystem
The ROG XREAL R1 integrates directly into the broader ROG ecosystem through the ROG Control Dock, offering extensive wired connectivity and device compatibility. The dock supports DisplayPort 1.4 and dual HDMI 2.0 inputs, allowing gamers to switch seamlessly between PCs and consoles with minimal effort.

For portable gaming, the glasses connect directly to the ROG Ally handheld via USB-C, delivering a virtual screen of up to 171 inches. The connection is fully optimised for plug-and-play use, requiring no setup while maintaining full access to Ally’s touchscreen controls. Users can also adjust screen size and viewing distance with a single button press, powered by the built-in X1 spatial co-processing chip.
High-Refresh-Rate Visuals for Competitive Gaming
The ROG XREAL R1 delivers a virtual 171-inch display at a viewing distance of four meters, covering up to 95% of the focused viewing area. A 240Hz refresh rate combined with 3ms motion-to-photon latency ensures smooth, responsive visuals with minimal motion blur and reduced jitter.

Weighing just 91 grams and with native three degrees of freedom tracking and Anchor mode, players can place the virtual display anywhere in their physical environment or keep it centred within their field of view for a more traditional gaming setup.
Other Features
On top of that, the ROG XREAL R1 sports electrochromic lens technology, which allows it to automatically adjust transparency based on where the wearer is looking. The lenses become clearer when the user looks away from the anchored screen and darken when focus returns to the display. Three manual dimming levels are also available, ensuring comfortable visibility in environments ranging from bright daylight to low-light indoor settings.

Audio is powered by Sound by Bose, delivering spatially accurate sound designed to match the immersive visuals. Subtle environmental cues and directional effects are rendered with clarity, helping players maintain awareness and react quickly during gameplay.
Global Launch Planned for First Half of 2026
ASUS confirmed that the ROG XREAL R1 is expected to ship globally in the first half of 2026. The gaming glasses will be showcased at the ASUS ROG booth at The Venetian and at XREAL exhibition locations during CES 2026 in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
