In case you were away over the long weekend last week, ASUS Malaysia announced a new Vivobook 16 (M1605) with the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors. There are two variants based on the processor and memory configurations, starting from RM2599.

Starting with the display, the Vivobook 16 has a 16:10 NanoEdge display with a large screen-to-body ratio of up to 86.5%. To ensure eye comfort during long viewing sessions, the laptop is certified with TÜV Rheinland low blue light and is also flicker-free. That's not all, the HD webcam has a physical shield and ASUS even integrated Antimicrobial Guard Plus protection on the ErgoSense keyboard, trackpad and palm rest.

Powered by up to AMD Ryzen 7 730U-Series processors with 16GB RAM and a 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD, the Vivobook 16 is also accompanied by up to a 42Wh battery and a dual-vented cooling system with an IceBlade fan. WiFi 6E is also supported and a set of basic I/O ports are available. This includes 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI 1.4 port, and an audio combo jack.

One thing that's worth noticing is that the Vivobook 16 was manufactured using 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics and comes in 100% recyclable packaging. Its energy efficiency outperforms the ENERGY STAR standard, and to ensure durability, the Vivobook 16 is tested to the strictest MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard.
