Today, ASUS has launched an all-new 2022 Vivobook 16X (M1603, AMD) for the Malaysian market. It's now available for sale at every ASUS official store and retailer at the price of RM2999. There's only one variant but comes in either Quiet Blue or Transparent Silver.
For your information, the Vivobook 16X (M1603) features an AMD Ryzen 5 5600H processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM (with additional DDR4 SO-DIMM slot) and 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD. To ensure maximum performance and keep the cool-ness, ASUS has upgraded the IceCool cooling system with dual heat pipes and an 87-IceBlade fan that accelerates heat transfer. On paper, this should allow the laptop to run at 45 W total TDP in Performance mode with no throttling.
As the name implies, the Vivobook 16X has a 16-inch 16:10 FHD+ (1920 x 1200) three-sided NanoEdge display. The high 86% screen-to-body ratio also translates to a larger display, 300 nits of brightness and wide 178° viewing angles. There is even an ASUS Antibacterial Guard on the display area, including the ASUS ErgoSense keyboard.
For enhanced security and privacy, there's a physical webcam shield that instantly blanks the image in video calls, and a fingerprint sensor on the touchpad for fast password-free login via Windows Hello. Last but not least, the Vivobook 16X has more than enough ports such as a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI output and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack.
