The ASUS ZenFone Zoom will be priced at RM2099

As per our previous hands-on experience with the ASUS ZenFone Zoom, the smartphone features a full metal frame all around the device but unlike previously, the back now has a hard leather surface for better grip and a more premium look. While it feels like plastic, ASUS have apparently used premium leather in the making to create a more durable leather backside unlike the soft leather backed LG G4.

According to ASUS, the treatment process hardens the leather, making it more durable

While the rear camera hump is quite pronounced, the ZenFone Zoom is still quite thin with a 5mm edge and is relatively lightweight at just 185g. It is 12mm thin at the camera hump but at least there isn't any telescoping zoom lens. A dedicated 2-stage camera shutter button is also located on the side along with a video record button and zoom rocker. ASUS have also added on a Panasonic Smart FSI image sensor for better camera performance.

The ASUS ZenFone Zoom feels like the ultimate cameraphone, minus the thick telescoping zoom barrel

In addition to the ZenFone Zoom, ASUS also announced the ASUS ZenWatch 2 smartwatch, ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Edition smartphone, ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501 notebook computer and ASUS Zen AIO Pro all-in-one. While there are no definite pricing details for these devices yet, they are also expected to arrive in Malaysia at the end of the month as well.
