When it comes to ASUS, the company is known for releasing some outlandish gadget designs on the market. Well, you're gonna be in for a treat because there is a new Zenbook 17 Fold OLED and it's coming to Malaysia for RM14,999.
Inside the hood, the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is an Intel Evo-certified foldable laptop that offers two sizes of OLED display in one device. One is a large 4:3 17.3-inch 2.5K touchscreen that folds in the middle to create two 3:2 12.5-inch 1920 x 1280 displays. It is said that the hinge was tested to withstand over 30,000 open-and-close cycles.
Since it's foldable, it can be used in multiple usage modes - Desktop, Laptop (ASUS ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard), Laptop (with virtual keyboard), Tablet, Reader and Extended. The foldable OLED touchscreen has a 60Hz refresh rate, 0.2ms response time, TÜV Rheinland, Dolby Vision and PANTONE certified, and a 100% DCI-P3 gamut. For entertainment purposes, there is also a quad-speaker Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos sound system.
In terms of tech specs, it is powered by the latest 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1250U processor, Intel Iris Xe graphics, 16 GB RAM and a fast 1 TB PCIe SSD. There is a pair of Thunderbolt 4 ports that support fast charging of the long-lasting 75 Wh battery, and connections to external displays. As fragile as it looks, the Zenbook 17 OLED is quite durable (on paper) since it passed the MIL-STD-810H US military standard rating.
