Today, ASUS is excited to announce its latest Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304). As the world's slimmest OLED ultralight laptop, it's the company's most eco-friendly Zenbook with a starting price of RM4,999. Here's everything you need to know.
Weighing just 1kg with a super-slim 1cm body thickness, how ASUS achieved this was embedding a thinner yet fully featured FHD IR camera directly into the CNC-machined lid. A specially designed ultraslim OLED panel, resulting in a lid that's 30% slimmer, was also infused onto the layers. To further optimise the internal layout, the engineering team made the lower part of the laptop about 25% slimmer.
In terms of tech specs, the Zenbook S 13 OLED features up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor that can be boosted by 20% to a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 20W. It's also Intel Evo-certified and is supported by up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD of storage. Moreover, it supports a 63Wh battery, WiFi 6E enhanced with ASUS WiFi Master Premium on board.
Even though it's light and thin, it still offers a good range of I/O ports. This includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 port and even a 3.5 mm audio jack port. The Thunderbolt 4 supports fast charging, a 4K external display, and up to 40 Gbps data transfer speeds. ASUS also announced a new Lumina OLED display which is said to be more accurate, adaptive and reliable. It features a 16:10 aspect ratio, Delta E <1 colour accuracy, 2.8K resolution, Pantone Validated, as well as Dolby Vision and DisplayHDR True Black 500-certified.
There are two Zenbook S 13 OLED variants based on memory configuration, and they will be available in Malaysia by the mid of May:
- Intel Core i5-1335U, 16GB + 512GB - RM 4,999
- Intel Core i7-1355U, 16GB + 1TB - RM 5,999
