Standing out in the crowd is not easy. Having a unique selling point is important to make your product rise above the rest – especially in the crowded Android-powered smartphone market. Well, ASUS just launched a new smartphone in Taiwan that has that special sauce. It is called the ASUS ZenFone Go TV – and yes, you can watch TV on it.

The ZenFone Go TV is not the first Android smartphone with a TV tuner built into it – this type of device is famous especially in East Asia, Korea, and Japan where digital terrestrial TV broadcast is the norm, and people watch TV on the go. However this is the first model we have seen so far that comes without a built-in telescopic antenna, and is priced the cheapest among its peers.

It can receive DB-T, DB-T2, ISDB-T, and ISDB-Tmm TV signal, thanks to the Sony SMT-EW100 40716 tuner chip inside. It also comes with a 5.5-inch LCD screen (in 1080p resolution) covered in Gorilla Glass 3, a Snapdragon 400 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of expandable storage, dual SIM LTE, 13MP and 5MP cameras, and a 3010 mAh battery.

In Taiwan, it is priced at NT$ 5490, which is about RM 670. Not bad for a TV you can bring along anywhere.
