For the last two years, ASUS has mostly been focusing on the premium flagship segment when it comes to smartphones. But the company may be ready to get back to releasing more affordable models soon. Sources have found leaked documents from ASUS that allegedly hint at four new smartphones for the budget segment.
According to Abhishek Yadav, the four smartphones that ASUS is working will come with chipsets that are codenamed 'Lito', 'Lagoon', 'Bengal', and 'Scuba'. He then mentioned that the above chipsets are the Snapdragon 765G, Snapdragon 690, Snapdragon 662/460, and a Snapdragon 200 series chipset, respectively. As you can see, the Snapdragon 765G is the only one that can be considered upper mid-range, while the other chipsets are lower mid-range and entry-level.

We don't know what models they can release, but the Snapdragon 765G chipset could be for a Lite version of the newly launched ZenFone 7 series. Considering that the ZenFone Max Pro from 2018 had a Snapdragon 660 chipset, the Snapdragon 690 chipset model is likely a new ZenFone Max model. One of the other two models could be a new ZenFone Live phone.
There's not a lot of solid detail yet, so we can't confirm if the above is true. But it's great to hear that ASUS may release affordable smartphones again. With that said, what are your thoughts on this? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for further updates on this.
